COLARIS "nexus" CD
Colaris ist eine Instrumentalband aus Pirmasens/Rheinland-Pfalz.
Musikalisch bewegen sich Colaris im Spannungsfeld instrumentaler und experimenteller Musik, irgendwo zwischen harten, treibenden und melodiösen Parts, sowie vertrackten und eingängigen Passagen. Vergleiche zu einschlägigen Bands liegen dabei im Auge des Betrachters, die Einflüsse der einzelnen Mitglieder sind jedoch so vielseitig, dass es wenig sinnvoll erscheint, diese auf einige wenige Namen zu beschränken.
Colaris flüchten sich mit ihrem zweiten Album drei Jahre und zwei weitere Veröffentlichungen nach „Renewal“ in diesen Ort fernab der Realität, vergessen jedoch nicht die Abgründe und die Düsterkeit des wirklichen Lebens. Schutz, Trost, Ersatz oder Flucht – der persönliche Nexus kann all diese Formen besitzen. Colaris beschwören deshalb ihren eigenen Nexus, ein Album, dessen Songs das Ergebnis vieler Höhen und Tiefen in den letzten zwei Jahren des Bandbestehens darstellen, welche den Hörer in einen tiefen Sog ziehen und einschließen, bis der Nexus schließlich zerbirst und im finalen „Harvest (Nexus pt.2)“ verglüht.
Aufgenommen wurde „Nexus“ in den Rama Tonstudios Mannheim (u.a. Ahab, The Tidal Sleep) und mit einem natürlichen, rohen Sound versehen. Das düstere Artwork stammt aus der Feder von Luca Solomacello (www.solomacello.it). Veröffentlicht wird das Album auf Vinyl und CD in Zusammenarbeit mit den Labels Revolvermann Records, Narshardaa Records und Wolves and Vibrancy Records, sowie als MC via Puzzle Records.

The bands sound can be described as a blend of heavy, driving and melodious parts, as long as some intricate and also catchy passages. Comparisons to well known bands of the genre are up to the listener, all band members have various influences, which makes it hard to reduce it on some names.
Three years and two releases after „Renewal“, Colaris escape into this place far beyond reality, but do not forget about the darkness and misery of the real world. Shelter, consolation or escape – the personal Nexus exists in many forms, but Colaris evoke their own Nexus, a record which songs are the result of many ups and downs in the last two years of the bands existence. The music absorbs and surrounds the listener until the Nexus finally explodes and burns out with the closing „Harvest (Nexus pt.2).
Recorded at the Rama Studios Mannheim (Ahab, The Tidal Sleep and more), Nexus comes with a natural and rough sound, the gloomy artwork is done by Luca Solomacello (www.solomacello.it).
